A new crestally approached sinus lift technique using SCA kit: Case reports
Cho Jong-Man

Abstract
One of the critical factors in achieving successful implant surgery is sufficient fixation in the posterior maxilla. But there are some limits, such as presence of maxillary sinus, lack of bone volume and height beneath the sinus floor, and inadequate bone density in posterior maxillary area. Practitioners have to consider two important points in implant surgery, as follows; first, how to lift the sinus membrane effectively without tearing it, and second, how to get the sufficient fixation effectively in the limited condition of bone. Sinus augmentation procedure using the SCA (sinus crestal approach) kit is a safer and faster method to lift the sinus membrane without tearing it by simply drilling the sinus inferior cortical bone. The SCA kit consists of 5 tools; stopper, S-Reamer, depth gauge, bone condenser and bone spreader. S-Reamer in the SCA kit is the essential apparatus to make holes in the inferior cortical wall of the sinus. It can provide faster and safer solution using stoppers and its high speed in 800-1200 rpm works even in the difficult situation of lateral wall and septum in the sinus. Here, I¡¯d like to present the new way of sinus augmentation using simple, fast and safe SCA kit with several clinical cases.
